Here's a simple little monogram pumpkin using black upholstery tacks, although I suppose any black tacks would work. I'd suggest putting a nice Halloween or autumn ribbon around the stem to add a bit more colors. I found this idea at Dollar Store Crafts.
Los Gatos Black on Halloween is a Boo Book Selection. This book incorporates Spanish phrases into a delightful Halloween tale with wonderful illustrations and a bit of frightful fun. Be warned there are some creepy story elements and spooky illustrations so this book is best suited for a slightly older set (7-11). Although it is a picture book some of the illustrations are a bit ghoulish. This book includes elements from the Day of the Dead, as well as, Spanish words and phrases woven into the poem.
Autumn is HERE!. Autumn items are already appearing in stores. Colorful silk leaves, scarecrows, and pumpkins are filling the aisle already. Autumn is the time to bring some lovely color into your home after the hot dry days of summer. Autumn decor and color can be simple and easy to integrate into your home.
Simple Autumn Touches:
- Display deep orange, red, yellow, and brown candles in groupings together on a table.
- Fill a basket with silk leaves, easily purchased at a dollar store.
- Use grapevine wreaths plain or with leave garland wrapped around them.
- Dig in your dishes, find bowls or plates of orange, yellow, or red....group them on a counter top or shelf for a bit of instant autumn color.
- Indian corn, minature pumpkins and gourds are available. Baskets, bowls, wagons, or even a shelf can display them in decorative and fun ways.
- Tie wide autumn ribbon around the towels in your bathroom for an instant autumn touch.
- Don't forget to add a touch of fall to your porch or entry way...use large pumpkins or colorful potted mums to create a welcoming entryway.
Don't forget to pick up a couple colorful orange totes, as soon as they appear in stores. Then you will be ready to tuck your autumn treasures away at the end of the season.

The theme for my annual Halloween party is going to be...."A Witch Hunt"....so I thought I'd do a "witch-y" round-up today!
Now this is quite the "cat's meow"....a whole party's worth of free printables: Invitations, party circles, goodie bag labels, party labels, banner, and cootie catcher. These are all coordinated and feature a cute witch theme. I LOVE theme. They have a slightly vintage feel. You can find the links to all the printables at Catch My Party

It’s Spooktacular Food Month: This month it’s time to look at those recipes you organized back in April. Let’s create fall menus. These can be used for a Boo Bash, autumn patio parties, or just quiet family evenings enjoying the fall weather. There are lots of ways to menu plan: Use a blank calendar for the months, use cards, or type up menu plans and put them in your autumn notebook. Whichever method you prefer, put together some autumn menus using old favorites and new recipes to try. Make sure you jot down the recipe location.
Crafts: Remember those crafty kits from February. How are they coming along? Now is the time to get busy and finish them so you can enjoy them in October!

It's JUNE.....time to start thinking about costumes. A great p-alce to start is by digging out your old Halloween costumes. It's time to declutter and get rid of anything that is no longer of use. Divide the remaining items into costumes and accessories.
Are you having a Halloween party? If so, does it have a theme? If you are having a theme party you will want to start looking for costume ideas related to your theme!
Check out garage sales and resale shops during the summer for costume items. You can find some great "non-Halloween" related items to create costumes! One year we had a Witch's Ball as our theme and bought old formals to use...add some spiders webs, blood, bone necklaces, and other spooky items to complete the look!
Spend some time during June browsing and thinking costumes!

This isn't just a party closet but look how organized it is....I'm really impressed and jealous! Read how she turned a coat closet into a pantry HERE
I like to keep a party closet set up....well actually mine is not a closet but an old dry sink that has three drawers. In the drawers I store things like candles, assorted paperware (themed plates, napkins etc) material that is holiday or theme related that can be used on tables as runners etc...and all manner of party items. These drawers do not contain actual dishes those are stored else where. It's not the perfect set up but it works for now.
Think about a storage area for your fall party supplies!
